How I Work

I am a qualified, experienced psychotherapist and counsellor. My private practice is based in Southwest London. I work with individual adults in my Southfield’s Practice, which is convenient for the areas of Wimbledon, Wimbledon Park, Raynes Park, Putney, Fulham, Parsons Green, Wandsworth, Battersea, Earlsfield, Southfields, Clapham, Tooting, Balham, Streatham, Morden, Kingston, Coombe, and New Malden. I also work as a volunteer counsellor/psychotherapist at the Wimbledon Guild.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy BACP, http://www.bacp.co.uk/.

I believe it is important to build a warm, safe, confidential and trusting relationship with you, and I aim to do this by being empathic and non-judgmental. My way of working is a wholesome organic approach tailored to your needs. I may sometimes use art, dreams and visualization techniques to increase self-awareness and understanding. By continued work on increasing self-awareness in these sessions, there is a potential for acceptance, change, increase in self-esteem and boost in self-confidence.

I believe the relationship between the counselor and client is often the main part of the counselling process. I often find that the relationship between counsellor and client can depict the relationships and behavioral patterns of the client outside the therapy room. This can be valuable as it provides us with an opportunity to explore patterns of behaviors which may be holding you back in your other relationships.

In my experience I have often found that present day difficulties can be rooted in past experiences and relationships that remain unresolved or incomplete. These experiences can unconsciously impact us by blocking us from moving forward and reaching our full potential. So part of the way I work may involve looking at your early experiences of relationships and how these may still be impacting on you in the present day.
