Psychotherapy
 

Psychotherapy can help you understand yourself better - Why you behave in a particular way and have certain feelings in certain situations. In other words, it helps you to understand the areas of difficulty, gain relief from present symptoms and learn new skills to cope with future issues.

 

I am an experienced therapist and offer discreet, sensitive, confidential one-to-one Counselling and Psychotherapy sessions.

 
   
 
My name is Chandrayee Basu and I am an experienced, professionally qualified counsellor/psychotherapist. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have a MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I abide by the BACP code of conduct, ethical requirements and professional practice.

My approach is Integrative. I use client centred and psychodynamic techniques as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). My way of working is collaborative and active in focusing on issues identified by the client.

How It Works

Counselling and Psychotherapy is a talking therapy where you are encouraged to explore difficult and often painful emotions and experiences. The process is not about giving advice on what to do, but about encouraging you  to concentrate on and identify emotional and disruptive thinking patterns linked to set behaviours, that may be interfering with your quality of life.

Therapy provides you an opportunity to try things in a new way in a safe confidential and controlled environment. It can be an empowering process and can be an important part of human education, helping you better understand your drives, motives, behaviours and relationships,fulfill your potential and achieve an increased sense of wellbeing.
